What are BCAA’s?

Three amino acids, Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine, together make up the BCAA’s. BCAA’s are particularly associated with sporting effort and are recommended to maintain energy levels, quickly, and support muscle function.

How does the horse use amino acids for energy?

Amino acids can be used as energy when other energy sources are not immediately available. Breakdown of these amino acids directly influence the energy production cycle (commonly known as the Krebs Cycle) either along ‘glucogenic’ or ‘ketogenic’ pathways. Providing both ensures all parameters are met.
